About me
Hello! I'm Josh and I create Railway Art!
I am a lifelong railway enthusiast with a love of art. I enjoy painting as escapism from the hustle of daily life, especially with three young children at home! I'm still learning and keen to take my art to the next step. My chosen media is acrylic on canvas. I find painting trains and railways incredibly therapeutic and am able to inject my passion and enthusiasm into every piece of artwork. There is no greater sight for me than a steam engine in its natural habitat.
When I'm not painting, I volunteer as a steam locomotive fireman at the Dean Forest Railway, stoking the fires of these awe inspiring, living, breathing machines. I aim to put that same energy into my art. There are many accomplished fine railway artists out there with an incredible level of attention to detail and historic accuracy. I take my inspiration from the fauvists and impressionists, using bright colours and experimenting with brush techniques, mixed in with a reasonable level of detail on the locomotives to produce my paintings. I'd love you to keep an eye on my journey!
